Fairy tales are short stories with imazinery fiction characters like fairies, dwarves, giants, witches, mermaids and usually magic or enchantments; originated from various regions and languages and are loved by children all over the world.
We should be thankful to 'Disney', for letting us visually live the great tales of Cinderella, Aladdin, Sleeping beauty and many more, from the big list which goes on!!
Well, what was common in any fairy tale? Hmm... True love and a Happy ending? Well yes! It is for them, that people love fairy tales so much.
Even today, all good happenings are generally phrased to be a 'Fairy tale ending'!
The Prince charming coming on his mighty horse and saving the princess from a fire breathing dragon with his true love's kiss etc, or an evil curse putting the princess's life in danger and the prince coming for her rescue, and so on... were most of the tales! Whatever the story was, the evil gets to suffer and the good ones win a life of flying colors, towards the end. This was must!
But the times have changed! It is no more an era of such tales!
Before getting the true love's kiss, people are getting kissed by as many love's as they encounter :P
Also, Good people are getting cursed and are suffering, and no good is coming to their rescue! :\
When was the last time, you have seen some good, win over the evil? I personally haven't seen in a long time!
So, even if kids today hear them and believe them, they will realize that they were cheated, as they grow up... as there is nothing like a true love's kiss or prince charming on his way to save them from the Problems (need not be a fire breathing dragon) of their lives!
Even 'Disney' has noticed this, and if you take their recent flicks like Frozen and Maleficent...
The evil prevailed over the good, but only for a certain time. As time passed by, the good became bad and the bad became good! Indicating that, this World is filled with shades of both Good and Bad in each one of us, and no one's completely good or bad! Being good to someone, will reward you Good in return and serving Bad, will make you suffer bad!! Time teaches every one, every lesson, for every thing they do!
Then, the advancement in technology and modernization of the World has shattered the boundaries, giving everyone ample amount of exposure and very subtle amount of patience, to wait for the Prince charming! So, the phrase 'True love's kiss' has lost its literal meaning and earned a new one!
In Frozen, its the Sister's love that save's the Princess, but not the love of a Prince or the Ice seller!
In Maleficent, its the Witch's love that saves the Princess, but not the love of the Prince, she fell in love with!
On a concluding note, I would say...
'There was a time, people used to get inspired by the Fairy tales and now is the time, that Fairy Tales are getting inspired by people!'
So haven't we ruined the fun?!?
