My Time Travel to Japan

Monday, October 1, 2012

       It was in the year 2008 that my dad got transferred to Tokyo, Japan; on a 3 year term from 'Bank of India'. So, with the reason of visiting him for summer, i have lived my dream of landing in a foriegn place, and that too in one of the world's best places. I have been to Japan thrice, for 3 summers until 2011, and even did my 'Internship project' in a Japanese Company named 'Infortech', with my College mate... Sandesh.

        Japan...'the land of rising sun', being comprised of 6,852 islands in all, and being 3rd largest economy in the world, can be considered... one of the best countries in Asia, as well as in the World.

        The 1st moment i have landed in Japan, i was outcold with the sudden climatic changes of around 35 degrees in India to < 15 degrees in Tokyo. My dad came and recieved me, my mom and my sis. My dad used to stay in 6th floor of the 52 floors of 'Bloom tower', in 'Shibaura island'. On my way home from airport...i was like..":O" with an open-mouth...! :D

       The Japanese have a very different culture when compared to any other country in the world. The way they look, eat, work, walk, pray, celebrate festivals, play sports, develop technologies, enjoy nature, greet people, build houses in the shapes of Pagoda's and the way they maintain their cities... is very unique.

        In my 1st visit to Japan, i was like..."Am i in heaven?". I was struck with astonishment by every single thing around me, as every thing was different in its own way. The luxurious buildings, technology assisting at every step, well planned traffic and well built cities, super cool nature and climate... were a few things, which made me feel so. I had visited some Important cities like Hiroshima, Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, Kyoto; and some Important places like Mt. Fuji (highest peak in Japan), Great Buddha in Kamakura;  Kinkaku ji temple; Torii gate etc.

          I and my sister used to go for long outings in the local metro rails, and have covered up a large portion of the Tokyo city. This helped me to accompany and show almost all the places to be seen...to my friend and class mate - Sandesh, who had accompanied me in my 3rd visit to Tokyo, to my dad. This time, it was not a visit of fun. We were there on some official work - Internship at Infortech (a Japan based software company). We started working in Infortech in may'2011 and worked for 60 days until july'2011. The work atmosphere was great and we savoured each and every moment of our time at office.

        We also had great weekends there. We used pack our bags and go out early in the morning of saturday, and reach back only in the mid-nights of sunday... totally tired with less than 5% of energy remaining. We have been to Disney land, which was a trip to remember forever. The most tiresome one was our visit to a far away island, where we went through two hills and a cave...! Awesome experience on field :) We had been to many Malls, and did lots of shopping as well :)

          There are certain things, apart from climate, nature, enjoying and having luxurious life, or comfortable stay... which have dragged my attention towards Japan and which left me no choice...but to fall in Love with the Country of Japan...!

          A few notable things can be:
1) Even after such a catastrophe - Bombing of the only Nuclear missile in war, to date... they have come up with such a unity and hard work that... 'Hiroshima' is one of their major cities right now, with lots of skycrapers and with almost everything, any other city will have. I was amazed to see the way they have turned up Hiroshima, which was completely opposite to my imagination.

2) The Japanese govt takes care of children below 13 years and elders over 60 years of age with all the required necessities, by providing funds... to encourage Marriages and Families (as Japanese people won't prefer to marry and prefer to stay single)

3) Upon my 2nd visit to Japan in 2010, FIFA WC @ Africa, was in full pace and Japan was the only country to get qualified from Asia. That dragged my interest towards Football, and now... Football has become a part of my life, and routine.

4) They also have...
* World's tallest Transmission tower - Tokyo sky tree;
* World's fastest bullet trains - Shinkansen 700N;
* World's largest music market, with a total retail value of 4,096.7 million $;
* The only man-made Airport, at Osaka - made by sinking 3 war ships;
* One of the 5 Disney land, and one and only Disney sea theme parks of the world;
* One of the 4 Universal studio theme parks;
* Large man made aquariums at Sea paradise;
* They are the leading developers of Auto mobiles, Manga books, Nintendo and Play-station games, Pokemon, Doraemon and several thousands of animation wonders, which are still the kid's favourites;
* A very huge pack of skycrapers in almost every city;

          Also, I could keenly observe and capture on my camera... every single notable thing about Japan, and their living.
* They trust people a lot and leave everything to people, on trust.
* They take care of every single aspect of the country unitedly and that is why, they sought such a great advancement in almost all the fields.
* They does have corruption, but not in root levels, and this helped them in better development.
* They are hard working, and unemployment is almost nil, as they have lots of openings in various fields.
* They are mostly literates and not any beggars or homeless can be seen around.
* They are highly punctual, and have their own rules to be followed, and they does follow them perfectly.
* They have a great love for Sports... and 'Sumo wrestling' is considered their National sport, along with Karate, Judo, Archery, Ninja, Sword fight, and 72 such martial arts... each originated from different regions. They also have successful Baseball and Football teams - which are One of the top teams in the world.

          Now...who can deny falling in love with such a place of Perfection... which has everything a person needs... to have a happy life. So, even i did fall for its beauty. My days in Japan were the best in my life... in all aspects. Many friends of mine tease me now saying..."You are more into Japan. Come to India" or "Japan boy" and so on. It is not that i boast about the country a lot. Its just that i feel happier and excited... when i start speaking about this place... of My Love :) <3>
